Published and proud to celebrate motherhood! (Plus an awful start to April)!

Hello! I hope you are all having a lovely April so far!

Firstly my apologies for not being around… unfortunately my April has been a little bit of a struggle so far, as illness has hit our home pretty hard. My daughter was sick throughout the Easter school holidays and I was (trying to) fight off illness myself. To cut a long story short, my daughter thankfully got better, but then I became very sick and ended up in hospital on Saturday evening. I’m starting to recover slowly now whilst on bed rest, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to catch up here! I usually love April as it symbolises so many changes and new beginnings, so hopefully it will start to improve now!

I wanted to share some of my good news with you. I submitted a poem earlier this year to be considered for a book of poetry, all about celebrating motherhood. Being a mother of two myself, this is obviously sonething very close to my heart.

This quote by Iain Thomas sums up motherhood beautifully

Last month I found out that my poem had been accepted and was going to be published in this wonderful collection of poetry. My copy landed on my doorstep last week and I’m overjoyed! This is my second piece of published poetry, and I’m incredibly proud that my hard work is starting to pay off!

Can’t stop smiling!

The book is called WOMb and has some truly gorgeous writes inside… I’ve loved curling up and enjoying reading all about everything that makes motherhood so amazing! It’s a very empowering collection of poetry, which just so happens to be my favourite type. Words that empower, strengthen and heal will always hold the most special place in my heart and soul.

Celebrating motherhood in all its glory…

Proceeds from the book go towards several women’s charities and I’m honoured to be helping to raise funds and awareness for such a worthy cause.

It is a huge moment of pride to see your name in ink and something I’ve dreamed of since being a little girl…It’s also pushing me into working towards writing a book of all my own poetry (another dream I’m determined to fulfill)!

Hello and welcome…

Hello and welcome to my little part of the internet! I hope you will join me for a while… Sit down, relax and grab a cup of something lovely (and maybe a biccy!) whilst I introduce myself…

My name is Claire and I live in beautiful Wales, United kingdom. I’m 35 and a single mother of 2 wonderful children who are my world. There’s nothing more we like doing than spending time together in the place we are lucky enough to call home.

So back to the point…one of my huge passions is writing. I love writing down my random thoughts and rhymes and posting them on Instagram. I started posting over a year ago now and love the support and friendships I have made there. I used to write poetry as a teenager then had a very long break whilst I raised my family. Unfortunately life’s road hit a bump and I experienced some very low times…it was then that the urge to pick up my pen hit me hard, and I started writing again. I’ve not looked back since…writing is my healing and I hope my words can help others who may be going through similar experiences.

Beautiful words by Joanne Harris

I thought it may be a nice idea to start a blog and share some of my words, as well as the words of some other talented writers. Be aware though that I love anything creative, so expect all sorts of creative loveliness to dance across your screen!

I love communicating with people so please do say hi! If you’re a fellow writer or a lover of words you’re very welcome here 💗
